We’ve outlined below our favourite Sharky & George Halloween party games to ensure a Halloween party to remember. So, trick or treat yourself this spooky season with these fun-filled classic games that will keep the children entertained for hours.
Children’s Halloween Party Games
- Apple Bobbing: An absolute classic, apple bobbing is a favourite at any party! This is best to do in teams of two so you can bring some friendly competition. Add more Halloween mischief by drawing jack-o-lantern faces on your apples.
*If you’re happy to make a real mess, then we suggest apple bobbing for sweets hidden in flour*
- Mummy Wrapping: Divide the children into two teams and have them select one representative from each team to become the mummy. The remaining teammates should form a single-file line. When the signal is given, each person will take turns wrapping the mummy with toilet paper, ensuring they are completely mummified. After finishing their wrapping, the players should sit down on the floor. The team that successfully unwraps their mummy in the shortest time will be declared the winner!
- Haunted Hunt: Elevate the excitement of a classic scavenger hunt with a fantastic Halloween twist! Take your guests on a spooktacular journey through your party by splitting them into teams, giving them a cauldron to collect their spooky items, and setting them on a scavenger hunt. Have them search for items including bones, fingers, fake blood, spiders, chocolate eyeballs or spooky tattoos.
- Giants, Wizards Trolls: This game is very similar to “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, but much more active! Divide your guests into two teams and get them to gather at opposite ends of the room. Each team decides which creature they want to be for the first round: either Giants, Wizards or Trolls. The whole team must be the same creature. When both teams have decided, they line up facing the other team, and everyone together yells “Giants! Wizards! Trolls!” and then whatever creature their team has decided to be. For example, a team who is Giants would yell: “Giants! Wizards! Trolls! GIANTS!” There's a small twist, when you step forward you must also perform the action: For Giants, raise your arms high overhead. For Wizards, extend your arms in front of your body as if casting a magical spell. And for Trolls, crouch down and curl your arms inward.
Now, here's the rule: Giants step on Trolls (meaning Giants defeat Trolls), Trolls tickle Wizards, and Wizards zap Giants. In each round, the team that successfully "defeats" the other team must chase the losers back to their side of the room. If any player from the losing team is tagged before touching their wall, they switch teams and join the other side. In cases where both teams end up as the same creature, it's considered a tie, and a new round begins. Keep playing until most of the children belong to a single team, creating an exciting and competitive game!

Other children’s Halloween Party Games
We hope these games add a little Halloween magic to your party, and if your little guests still have energy to burn, remember there are plenty of Sharky & George classic party games that can be spookified, including
- Zombie footsteps: think Grandma’s footsteps but with a Halloween twist. Line children up at one end. Put sweets at your feet at the other end. Children pretend to be zombies and sneak up and try and steal sweets whilst your back is turned. If you spot them moving, they go back to the start.
- Monster mash musical mats: Like musical chairs. Play music, children follow your silly dance actions (monsters, witches, zombies, ghosts). When the music stops children have to jump on mats or else get whacked by whackers. Remove 1 mat per round.
- Wink murder: The murderer kills people by winking at them. When a player is killed, that player should lie down in an extravagant way.
- Ghostly statues: Children dance to tunes impersonating ghosts. When the music stops, children freeze – when music stops put a sweet on funny place on the stillest child
Haunted Hunt
Here’s one of George’s favourite Halloween party games:
- Musical Cauldron: This is perfect for slightly younger guests. Get a big cauldron and place it in the middle of the room, then fill it with Halloween hats, masks and fancy dress props. Get everyone to pick something to wear from the cauldron, and play some classic Halloween tunes. Get everyone dancing and when the music stops, get the players to quickly swap their fancy dress with someone else, and then start the music again.

Food for a Children’s Halloween Party
Here are some of our favourite spooky snacks:
- Turn satsumas into mini pumpkins: Get a black marker and be creative, adding a pumpkin face to each satsuma, making them each look like a miniature carved pumpkin.
- Transform Oreos into spiders: This is a very effective snack option. Simply take the top off your Oreo, ensuring it doesn’t snap, place four black liquorice laces across the white centre (creating 8 legs!), then place the top back on! Next step, use icing to add eyes to your spider, and there you have it, a pack of creepy Oreo spiders.
- Gingerbread men become gingerbread skeletons: Get creative when icing your gingerbread men, adding a skeleton rather than clothes to each.
- Cheesy broomsticks: This quick but very effective snack looks so brilliant and makes a fun savoury choice.
You will need: cheese sheets, pretzel sticks, and chives for broomsticks. Slice each cheese square sheet in half, before ‘fringing’ one side, three-quarters of the way up each piece of cheese. Next wrap each slice of cheese around the end of a pretzel stick, before securing it with the chives.
5. Chocolate-covered, strawberry ghosts: These strawberry ghosts are more cute than creepy. Just dip each strawberry in melted white chocolate, and add a pair of edible googly eyes to each!
