Held on the vibrant Upper West Side of New York, the event brought together 40 guests of all ages for an afternoon and evening filled with theatre, music, and adventure. The birthday girl was a lifelong lover of musicals, so what better way to celebrate than by bringing the magic of Broadway to life around her?

The celebration kicked off with a private movie screening, featuring heartfelt interviews with friends and family sharing their favourite memories and what made the birthday girl so special. As the final credits rolled, it became clear this was only the beginning of an experience like no other…

The Ultimate Musical Theatre Quest Across New York

Next, guests were divided into teams and given themed accessories inspired by legendary musicals – from Grease and Mamma Mia to Hamilton and Camelot. Each team received a bespoke interactive map guiding them on a theatrical journey through NYC, unlocking incredible experiences at various locations.

The adventure included:

• A busking surprise - after dropping a dollar into a street performer’s hat, guests were astonished when she launched into a West End-worthy rendition of My Fair Lady.
• A tap-dancing twist - strolling down the sidewalk, teams found themselves in the middle of a Bugsy Malone-style tap dance performance!
• A musicals gameshow - at a hidden speakeasy bar, teams went head-to-head in a Broadway trivia showdown filled with fierce (but friendly!) competition.
• An unexpected life drawing class - inside a secret art gallery, guests were challenged to sketch a rather revealing live re-enactment of The Birth of Venus – a surprising and hilarious creative challenge!

Central Park Surprise: A Flash Mob Birthday Showstopper

Just when guests thought the adventure had reached its end, they gathered in Central Park for what seemed like a quiet moment of reflection. That’s when the real showstopper began.

A seemingly ordinary woman selling bird feed burst into song – Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. As jaws dropped, she was joined by two bin men, a runner, and a few sharp-suited ‘businessmen’ from Hamilton. Together, they transformed the scene into a breathtaking Broadway flash mob, featuring a 25-strong cast performing a spine-tingling medley of the greatest show tunes ever written.

It was a moment of pure theatre magic – unexpected, electrifying and an utterly unforgettable 70th birthday celebration.

The Grand Finale: An Immersive Dining & Performance Experience

The musical adventure led guests to a secret final location, revealed only once all the map challenges had been completed. Here, they enjoyed a spectacular immersive musical theatre dining experience, complete with show-stopping performances and a delicious meal.

The night ended with drinks, dancing and celebrations into the night.
