Afternoon adventure hunt
If your child is a little adventurer then why not organise your own birthday scavenger hunt! Treasure hunts are awesome, and they’re even better when there are prizes involved! Head into the garden and work out a route, with some landmarks along the way and write a series of clues that lead the players from one landmark to the next. Take the children on a fun-filled tour of the garden and ensure there’s a prize at the end for everyone who takes part. To make it extra special, we suggest creating a treasure map with an X marks the spot where the prize is located!
Encourage your children to get up close with nature by organising a bug hunt! All you need is a few jam jars, some fishing nets, magnifying glasses and a notepad to record your finds. Search the garden under rocks or in bushes, under the bark of trees and in the long grass to see what creepy crawlies you can find. Gently put them in the jar and then count the legs, eyes and wings and ask the children to draw what they find in the log book. Once everyone has drawn then, set the bugs free and keep on looking!
