A global headhunting firm came to us looking to breathe new life into their annual strategy off-site – something that encouraged real connection, created lasting impact, and ensured a great time for everyone. 30 Senior Managers came to the Berkshire Countryside for 2 days, for a light hearted and engaging experience, where strategy and human connection could unfold beyond the confines of a conference room.
After a collaborative pitching process, we developed an immersive countryside retreat focused on three guiding principles: fostering authentic connection, reconnecting with nature, and replacing PowerPoint with people-powered play. The itinerary was shaped to balance purposeful sessions with energising experiences – from hands-on challenges to fireside cooking, all designed to refresh thinking and strengthen the team.
The retreat began in a beautiful oak-framed barn – bright, warm, and worlds away from the traditional corporate setting. Strategy discussions flowed into a competitive countryside quest featuring hedge-laying, problem-solving and absurd challenges to unlock a series of chests. In the afternoon, guests set off on a hilltop hike where a panoramic picnic awaited. The evening brought a campfire feast cooked by the teams, great wine, laughter, and glamping under the stars. The next morning started with a sunrise yoga session, delightfully interrupted by playful pygmy goats. A perfect way to end the retreat and leave the team ready to head back to their normal lives.
