RealTIME Adventure Race

120 PEOPLE. 36 HOURS. ONE GIANT LONDON GAMEBOARD.

When a last-minute jump in numbers left TIME Investments needing to rethink its company event, they came to us with little more than 36 hours to create something new. Our answer? Turn central London into the venue.

The Brief

TIME Investments suddenly needed an event for 120 colleagues after their original venue could no longer accommodate everyone.

With just 36 hours to go, the new plan needed to be ambitious, engaging and capable of bringing the whole company together — without relying on complicated venue or transport logistics.

Concept
Creation

Our HQ team created the RealTIME Adventure Race: a giant, on-foot game across central London.

Teams would race between fixed challenges, complete roaming photo and video missions and chase down a mysterious Fugitive whose location appeared live throughout the afternoon.

With the clock ticking, teams were free to choose their own route, tactics and challenges — turning the streets, parks, landmarks and even the odd pub into part of the game.

Event Delivery

All 120 participants set off from TIME’s offices at 80 Strand, with Sharky + George judges stationed around the game area.

Over the course of the afternoon, teams accumulated points through challenges, missions and the Fugitive chase before returning for a final showdown in Victoria Embankment Gardens.

Back at the office, scores were tallied, the best photos and videos became an instant slideshow, and the day finished with team and individual awards.

All conceived, prepared and delivered with 36 hours’ notice.

Key Moments

The Fugitive
Teams used Live Location to hunt down a hidden character across central London — including one particularly competitive chase through a peaceful landscape art class in St James’s Park.
Pub Party Tricks
Teams had to persuade a stranger to award them points for a party trick. Cue the worm, Daffy Duck impersonations and one attempt to name every capital city in the world.
London Challenges
Human pyramids, busker performances, statue impersonations, music videos and whole teams airborne in Trafalgar Square.
Competitive Malteser Rolling
Because naturally somebody needed to establish how far a Malteser could be rolled down a tape measure. (The answer: 5 metres 41 centimetres.)
“What could easily have become a disappointing day for our people was transformed into one of the best company events we’ve ever held. The challenge was brilliantly designed, professionally delivered and struck exactly the right balance of fun, teamwork and friendly competition.”
Nigel Ashfield, Founder & MD, TIME Investments
